“Ma Belle, MY Beauty,” a film i composed for, goes to Sundance!
Some good news for Film director and good friend Marion Hill (And I suppose subsequently for me).
Her film “Ma Belle, My Beauty,” A film that she both wrote and directed is being debuted at Sundance Film Festival sometime in 2021!
I had the distinct pleasure and opportunity to work in a bunch of different capacities on the film, including playing for the soundtrack which is quite the eclectic mixture of music idioms assembled by Mahmoud Chouki, another good friend and the music director for the film.
Not only that, but I was also asked to write and record an original piece to the soundtrack, one in which I played trumpet and sang, with backing from great musicians and friends Gerald Watkins (Drums), Amina Scott (bass), Greg Agid (Tenor Sax/ Clarinet), Amari Ansari (Alto Saxophone), and John Maestas (Guitar).
Keep an eye out for the piece, entitled “Love me For a While.”
Much luck to Marion and Mahmoud and all involved in the making of the film! Link below to the films page!
